The Walter Hohmann Monument is a monument to the east of Hardheim erected in honor of the space pioneer Walter Hohmann .

The memorial was erected in 1974 and consists of a rocket model and a plaque. From 1974 to 2003 a 15 meter high model of the " Europa 1 " rocket was used for this purpose. This model broke on December 16, 2003 and was removed in 2005 because it could no longer be repaired. In 2011 it was decided to build a new rocket model in the form of an " Ariane 5 " on a scale of 1: 4.29. This 12.4 meter high and 8 ton heavy model was manufactured from October 2011 to January 2012 and erected on March 17, 2012. With the base, it is 14.3 meters high.
