Wang Wei (Chinese: 王卫; born January 10, 1970 in Shanghai ) is a Chinese billionaire, businessman and founder of ShunFeng Express , a Chinese delivery company. In 2018, his net worth was $ 19.3 billion, making him one of the richest people in China.

Life

Wang Wei was born in Shanghai. His father worked as a Russian interpreter for the Chinese Air Force and his mother was a university professor. At the age of 7, Wang's family moved to Hong Kong , where he attended elementary and secondary school. After graduating, Wang did not go to university, but started working in manufacturing.

Wang began his career in the printing and dyeing plants in Shunde , a trading and manufacturing center in Guangdong Province with access to Hong Kong. In the early 1990s, Shunde factories had to supply samples to Hong Kong buyers, but they often had problems with long delivery delays. To speed up this process, Wang founded ShunFeng Express as a small courier service with initially six employees. By 2017, Wang ShunFeng Express had risen to become a logistics giant that is active in several countries and has over 400,000 employees. The company went public in 2017.

In 2018 he was ranked 63rd among the richest people in the world .
