Wang Zhongshan
Wang Zhongshan is a Chinese Zheng player.
Wang attended the art school of Nanyang from 1981 and studied there with the zheng master Zhao Manqin . From 1986 he continued his education with Li Wanfen at the Chinese Conservatory in Beijing. He developed a new playing technique for the zheng, was a prizewinner of the Chinese instrumental competition ART Cup in 1989 and won the first prize for zheng players there in 1995. He gave a recital in Beijing in 1992 and has made guest appearances in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Poland and Macau, among others. He also worked as a musician in television and film productions. His virtuoso playing earned him the name "Prince of the Guzheng". Wang teaches Zheng at the Chinese Conservatory and also gave classes in Hong Kong.
