history

The coat of arms of the municipality draws on elements of the family coat of arms of the Lords of Schmiechen , a local noble family, which is documented from the 12th century to 1608. From 1296, she carried the Hermelin-studded, crowned and tufted cap in the seal.

The shield colors of the family coat of arms silver and blue, which are handed down in older heraldic books, were also adopted.

The approval of the use of the coat of arms was given by a resolution of the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior of July 17, 1952.
