history

The coat of arms is that of the Counts Rothenburg . From 1712 the coat of arms can be found in the seal of the Haug monastery , the founder of which, Bishop Heinrich I - not historically guaranteed - comes from the Rothenburg family. The village court of Versbach Abbey used the image in the seal from 1735. The oldest seal was adopted unchanged for the municipal coat of arms. The colors correspond to those of the family coat of arms.

The approval of the use of the coat of arms was given by a resolution of the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior of July 28, 1952.
