Warmachine

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Warmachine is a tabletop game published in 2002 by the American company Privateer Press , the German version was published by Ulisses Spiele until 2017 .

Overview

In light of the Iron Kingdoms (Engl. Iron Kingdoms ) plays Warmachine in a progressive fantasy world in which, in addition to the common elements like magic, fantasy races and Dragon, by steam-powered war machines that warjacks , play an essential role. These warjacks, controlled by powerful war mages called warcasters , also form the core of a Warmachine army. At Warmachine, compared to other tabletop systems such as Warhammer , few models are used. The entry-level size is usually three to six models, 40 models and more correspond to larger battles. Due to the small number of models, Warmachine also achieves a fast game sequence, so that a game of average size can be played in just over an hour. In addition, the game system uses playing cards that contain all the values and special rules of the models and thus make the annoying rule book look-up unnecessary for many players, as the player has everything important such as values and special rules "on hand" in this way.

Warmachine won the Origins Award 2005 as Game of the Year .
