AB Warta Glass Panevėžys is a glass manufacturer in Panevėžys and belongs to the Portuguese company BA Vidro through the Polish company Warta Glass .

It was built in 1965 and was the largest manufacturing plant for glass and related products not only in Lithuania but in the whole of the Baltic States . There were 1,300 employees. During the Russian crisis in 1998 suffered the company decisively. Society should become competitive in the European Union. In 2002, the government of Lithuania approved the aid plan. The company nearly went bankrupt. In 2009, AB “Panevėžio stiklas” became AB “Warta Glass Panevėžys”.

Unions

There are three unions in the company:

  • "Panevėžio stiklas" Inžinierių ir tarnautojų sąjunga (engineers and employees)
  • Akcinės bendrovės "Panevėžio stiklas" darbininkų profesinė sąjunga (worker)
  • Akcinės bendrovės "Panevėžio stiklas" stiklininkų sąjunga (glass workers).
