Active washing substances

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Under detergent substances are chemicals combined together with water due to their chemical structure, are capable of soil "take". Solid or liquid contaminants on textiles or other surfaces are brought into a form so that they appear to be "dissolved" in water and thus removed. The most important group of compounds here are the surfactants . This article also contains an explanation of the mode of action of the “detergent substances”. Washing activity affects the interfacial tension between water, dirt and textiles and can also be called interfacial activity .

The abbreviation WAS describes the content of washing-active substances in detergents and other cleaning agents .
