Datteln Waterways Construction Office

The Datteln waterways new construction office is one of seven new construction and expansion offices of the federal waterways and shipping administration . It is subordinate to the General Directorate for Waterways and Shipping .

The Datteln Waterways Construction Office is responsible for the expansion and construction of waterways, especially in the Ruhr area.

history

The Datteln waterway construction department goes back to a branch office for mining damage of the then waterways and shipping directorate in Münster, which set it up in Essen in 1946 after damage caused by coal mining. In 1948 the branch office for mountain damage was relocated to Datteln . On July 1st, it became the Datteln Waterways Construction Office. In 2000 the office in Herne, which existed until 1998 as the Herne waterway machinery office, then as the Herne mechanical engineering department, was merged with the new building office.
