Helmstedt Waterways Construction Authority

The Helmstedt Waterways New Construction Office is one of seven new construction and expansion offices of the federal waterways and shipping administration . It is subordinate to the General Directorate for Waterways and Shipping .

The Helmstedt Waterway Construction Office was established in 1992 and is responsible for the expansion of the eastern section of the Mittelland Canal between the Sülfeld lock near Wolfsburg and the beginning of the upper outer port of the Rothensee lock at the Magdeburg waterway intersection as part of project 17 of the German Unity Transport Projects .

The Helmstedt waterway construction department also supports the Minden and Verden waterway and shipping authorities in the planning for the adaptation of the Central Weser.
