The Waterways and Shipping Office Verden (WSA Verden) was a waterways and shipping office in Germany. It belonged to the service area of the General Directorate for Waterways and Shipping , formerly Waterways and Shipping Directorate Central .
By merging the waterways and shipping authorities in Hann. Münden and Verden opened on February 4, 2020 in the new waterways and shipping office Weser .
Area of responsibility
The office was responsible for the federal waterways Weser from kilometer 213.0 (north of Minden ) to km 354.19 (state border Lower Saxony / Bremen), Aller from the city of Celle (km 0.0) to the mouth of the river in the Weser near Verden (km 117.1) and Leine from Neustadt am Rübenberge (km 68.0) to the confluence with the Aller near Schwarmstedt (km 112.11).
Area of responsibility
The tasks included:
- Maintenance of federal waterways in the official area
- Operation and maintenance of structures such as B. Weirs , locks and bridges
- Extension and new construction
- Maintenance and operation of the navigation signs
- Measurement of water levels
- Takeover of electricity and shipping police tasks.
Outskirts
The office included outskirts in Windheim , Nienburg , Verden, Oldau and the Hoya building yard . The outskirts were in addition to the maintenance of various facilities and buildings u. a. also responsible for the maintenance and operation of the barrages (weirs and locks) in the respective office area.
- The suburb of Windheim was responsible for the Central Weser from Petershagen (km 213.0, border to the district of the former Minden waterways and shipping authority ) to Landesbergen (km 250.5). The Petershagen and Schlüsselburg barrages were in the area of responsibility of the outskirts of Windheim .
- The outskirts of Nienburg were responsible for the Central Weser from Landesbergen (km 250.5) to Drübber (km 303.35). The Landesbergen barrage and the Drakenburg barrage were in the area of responsibility of the outskirts of Nienburg .
- The outskirts of Verden were responsible for the Middle Weser from Drübber (km 303.35) to Bollen (km 354.19, state border Lower Saxony / Bremen) and the Aller von Hülsen (km 94.1) to the confluence with the Weser in Verden-Eissel (km 117.1). The Dörverden barrage and the Langwedel barrage were in the area of responsibility of the Verden outer district .
- The outskirts of Oldau were responsible for the Aller from Celle (km 0.0) to Hülsen (km 94.1) and the Leine from Neustadt am Rübenberge (km 68.0) to the confluence with the Aller in Hademstorf (km 112.11 ). The barrages Oldau , Bannetze, Marklendorf and Hademstorf in the Aller are in the area of responsibility of the outskirts of Oldau .
- In particular, the Hoya building yard took on maintenance and repair tasks on ships and systems as well as the shipping signs of the Verden waterways and shipping authority.
