coat of arms

The coat of arms has its origin in the noble coat of arms of the family de Hulsinge from the year 1405, however the halved eagle was in this noble coat of arms on the right side. The Prussian eagle can also be found in today's coat of arms of the town. The other half of today's coat of arms shows four leaves of the holly Ilex on a red background, a shrub that can still be found in many places in the Feldmark around the town. The old high German name for it is "Hulis" later sleeve.

Nevertheless, the place name certainly comes from the von Hülsing family, who died out in the 16th century.
