The Waterways and Shipping Office Trier (WSA Trier) was a waterways and shipping office in Germany. It belonged to the service area of the General Directorate for Waterways and Shipping , formerly the Waterways and Shipping Directorate Southwest .
The authority was founded in Trier in 1952 . By merging the waterways and shipping offices of Trier, Koblenz and Saarbrücken , it was merged on June 13, 2019 in the new waterways and shipping office for Mosel-Saar-Lahn .
Area of responsibility
The Trier Waterways and Shipping Office was responsible for the Moselle from Koblenz to the border triangle (Germany, Luxembourg and France), including the route on which the Moselle is the border river to Luxembourg. Here the river is a German-Luxembourgish condominium ( joint German-Luxembourgish territory ).
Area of responsibility
The tasks of the Trier Waterways and Shipping Office included:
- Maintenance of federal waterways in the official area
- Operation and maintenance of structures, e.g. B. locks , weirs and bridges

- The Trier building yard, especially for maintenance and repair work on ships and systems of the WSA Trier and Saarbrücken .
