The Wasserstraßen- und Schifffahrtsamt Mittellandkanal / Elbe-Seitenkanal (WSA MLK / ESK) is a waterways and shipping agency in Germany. It belongs to the service area of ​​the Directorate-General for Waterways and Shipping .

The Waterways and Shipping Office was created on February 5, 2020 by amalgamating the previous Waterways and Shipping Authorities in Minden , Braunschweig and Uelzen . The office has locations in Minden, Braunschweig, Uelzen and Hanover.

Area of ​​responsibility

The Wasserstraßen- und Schifffahrtsamt is responsible for the Mittelland Canal from the confluence of the canal into the Dortmund-Ems Canal to the Magdeburg- Rothensee waterway junction and the Elbe Lateral Canal from the Mittelland Canal to the confluence with the Elbe . The area of ​​responsibility also includes the branch canals Ibbenbüren , Osnabrück , Hannover-Linden , Hannover-Misburg , Hildesheim and Salzgitter .
