Small vehicle license plate
A small vehicle registration number is an official registration number for small vehicles and pleasure craft less than 20 meters in length.
allocation
Germany
Small vehicle registration numbers are assigned by the waterways and shipping authorities on request . For this purpose, the authorities issue a “small vehicle license plate ID” which, in addition to the license plate, contains technical data of the small vehicle and the name and address of the owner. The ownership relationship must be made credible or proven.
The license plate must always be clearly legible in at least ten centimeters high Latin letters and Arabic numerals in light color on a dark background or in dark color on a light background on both sides of the bow or on the stern of the boat.
Austria
The national registration number consists of a capital letter or a capital and a small letter in Latin characters to designate the licensing authority, followed by a hyphen and a five-digit number in Arabic numerals.
The approval authorities are the Federal Minister for Transport, Innovation and Technology or the individual governors .
recognition
The small vehicle license plate is mostly not recognized abroad as proof of registration and ownership.
Alternatives
As an alternative to the small vehicle license plate , a small vehicle can have the number of the international boat license as an officially recognized license plate or the number of the flag certificate as an official license plate. A pleasure craft may not have more than one registration number (Section 2, Paragraph 3, Clause 4 of the KlFzKV-BinSch).
