Wastefall is a Greek progressive rock and metal band from Athens that formed in 2003, separated in 2008 and re-formed in 2010.
history
The band was founded in March 2003 by singers and guitarists Alex Katsiyannis and Domenik Papaemmanouil. Drummer George Kanavaris and bassist Ilias Kalivas later joined the band. The band reached a contract with Sleaszy Rider Records and released their debut album Fallen Stars and Rising Scars on July 28, 2003. After the release, keyboardist Christos Kyrkilis joined the band. Then bassist Ilias Kalyvas was replaced by Stratos Haidos. Matthew Dakoutros joined the cast as violinist.
After a few rehearsals, the band went to Fragile Studios in May 2004 to record the album Soulrain 21 , which was released on November 7th via Sleaszy Rider Records. After the release, Stratos Haidos left the band and was replaced by Nick Valentzis. Shortly thereafter, Matthew Dakoutros and George Kanavaris left the band. A few months later Kostis Papaleksopoulos joined the group as the new drummer.
In October 2005 the band reached a contract with the Intromental Management agency and signed a recording deal with Sensory Records . The album Self Exile was mixed and mastered in Denmark by Tommy Hansen at Jailhouse Studios in January 2006.
