Waveshape was a group in the field of electronic music, founded in 1990 in Cologne. Stylistically, you can assign her music to the Berlin School . After 5 studio and one live album, the group broke up at the end of 1998.

history

Waveshape consisted of the two musicians Michael Neihs and Volker Jüngerich. Her studio was in Windeck-Stromberg . In 1998 the two released the album Arkos (1) Return of the Cosmic Couriers , originally intended as a trilogy, under the pseudonym Radium . In 2004 Michael Neihs released the album My fetching Red Firebutton under the pseudonym Heizkoerper . The 8 tracks were intended for a computer game that was never released.

Worth mentioning

For the album "Polychrom" acoustic signals of the cosmic background radiation were integrated into the music. As one of the first groups ever, Waveshape used a virtual light machine programmed by Jeff Minter for their performances , which projected colored effects onto a screen in sync with the music. In 1996 the album Searching for Life - The Mars Project Vol. 1 was released for the 20th anniversary of the Viking probes landing on Mars . Waveshape revised the song Abendstern , which appeared on the album cycle a year earlier, and re-released it under the title Abendstern Remix '96 .
