Web Map Context

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Web Map Context ( WMC ) documents are XML files standardized by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) . They are used in WMS clients to save the configuration of the currently displayed maps and to load them again later. Depending on the application, the files can also be exchanged between different clients.

Here, maps are exclusively understood to mean web map services , whose URL and other information, for example on the individual layers of the map, are stored in the WMC documents.

Version 1.1 of the Web Map Context Standard is currently available.

Programs
