Alternating tones

For musical instruments with tongues , alternating tones means that different tones are produced depending on the direction of the airflow flowing through them. Alternating musical instruments are the diatonic accordion , the concertina , the bandoneon and the harmonica . The opposite of "alternating tones " is " monotonous ".
