The Wedge Tomb by Cappaghkennedy ( Irish Ceapa Uí Chinnéide ) is located in the middle between the R480 and the R460 (streets) in the townland of the same name near Carran im Burren in County Clare in Ireland . Wedge Tombs ( German  "Keilgräber" ), formerly also called "wedge-shaped gallery grave", are between 4000 and 2500 BC. In the Neolithic , double-walled, aisle-free, mostly undivided megalithic buildings from the late Neolithic and early Bronze Age .

The Wedge Tomb lies in the remains of an oval cairn . It consists of 5 (from what used to be at least 8) preserved limestone bearing stones , which support two capstones that originally probably formed a single slab that is now heavily weathered. The chamber is about 3.0 m long and tapers from 1.8 m at the western end to 1.5 at the eastern end. Access to the chamber is largely blocked by a transverse plate that was part of the antechamber. Stones that belong to the cairn border are preserved, especially in the northern half.
