The wayside cross in the Schweinheim district of Euskirchen was built at the end of the 17th century and is one of the oldest wayside crosses in the area.

The 468 cm high wayside cross made of trachyte is a listed building . In addition to the cross with a statue that Jesus Christ represents the crossroads is also a niche with a shell element with it attached colorfully decorated double coat of arms of the noble families Bernsau and forest mountain and a stepped pedestal , the lower levels are in the earth. The cross stands at the exit of the village under three linden trees planted in 1930.

The cross was probably donated on the occasion of the wedding of the lord of the castle Wirich Wilhelm Dietrich von Bernsau to Amalie Regina Katharina von Waldenberg, which took place on January 11, 1694. For this reason, the wayside cross is sometimes called the Schweinheim wedding cross or the alliance cross of Schweinheim.
