World Food Council

The World Food Council (Engl. World Food Council , WFC ) was an organization of the UN .

It was founded on the recommendation of the World Food Conference in Rome in 1974 . It was the highest steering and coordinating body of the various UN organizations for solving the world food problem in Africa. In 1996 it was decided to dissolve the World Food Council. Its tasks were taken over by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the World Food Program (WFP).
