The World Peace Cross Hermannsfeld is a 14 meter high memorial cross in the immediate vicinity of a former watchtower on the former inner-German border on the Dachsberg south of the Rhönblick district of Hermannsfeld . It was erected on October 3, 1991 and, due to its poor condition, dismantled at the end of August 2011 and used as a bench next to the former location. On September 6, 2014, a new World Peace Cross was erected in the same dimensions as the old one.
