World Federation of Societies for the United Nations

The World Federation of Societies for the United Nations (WFUNA) , engl. World Federation of United Nations Associations is an international network of over one hundred thousand people who are linked by United Nations societies in more than 100 countries.

The network enables people in all parts of the world to exchange information about important and urgent global problems. The topics include peace and human rights, the spread of democracy, equal development and the enforcement of international law. In particular, the organization wants to strengthen the influence of the United Nations and aims for a more democratic UN through an International Parliamentary Assembly .

WFUNA is an independent, non-governmental organization with advisory status to the United Nations Economic and Social Council ( ECOSOC ). The association acts in an advisory capacity and maintains close working relationships with numerous other UN organizations.
