Werbellinsee (Ostprignitz-Ruppin)

The Werbellinsee (from Slavic : varbl = sparrow ) is a 40-hectare channel lake in the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district .

The Werbellinsee is located about ten kilometers south-southwest of the city of Lindow (Mark) or near Herzberg (Mark) .

Despite its length of 2.5 kilometers, the forest-surrounded lake is only 200 to 300 meters wide and a maximum of 2 meters deep. The Werbellinsee drains in the Werbellingraben and in years with high rainfall in a river called the Rhin , a tributary of the Lindower Rhins .
