history

The Bremer Vulkan shipyard grew considerably after the First World War. After 1920 the number of employees rose steadily to over 4,000. The volcano was forced to build company apartments for the immigrant workers and engineers as close as possible to the shipyard.
The plastered, U-shaped, two-storey building for six spacious apartments with a mansard roof and the facade of a mansion was therefore built in 1922 in the period between the wars.

The renovated residential building was retained, the shipyard was closed in 1997.
