West German forest run series

The West German Forest Run Series is a running event of TUSEM Essen , which takes place on two weekends in January and February. In runners' circles one speaks of the TUSEM forest run series .

In 2006 it celebrated its 50th edition.

Traditionally, the run in the Lührmannwald at the Margarethenhöhe in Essen takes place on a highly profiled circuit, with 4,400 meters (3 laps) in the youth / adult class and 10,200 meters (7 laps) in the main run. In the main run, about 180 meters of altitude have to be overcome. The individual runs on both event dates as well as the series by adding up the times from two runs are evaluated.

In addition, school runs with a length of 1,100 meters and 1,500 meters are also held.
