Frank Capra junior

Frank Capra junior (born March 20, 1934 in Los Angeles , California as Frank Warner Capra , † December 19, 2007 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania ) was an American film producer .

Life

He was one of three children of the director Frank Capra and his second wife Lucille Rayburn Warner . Originally, he wanted to become a scientist and also earned a degree in geology from the California Institute of Technology . However, he then worked in the research department of Hughes Tool Company , the company owned by Howard Hughes, and made several short films about special weapons and torpedoes, which brought him back into contact with the film business.

Capra was President of EUE Screen Gems Studios in Wilmington, North Carolina. Like his father and son Frank Capra III , he was active in show business. He produced various television and feature films, especially in the 1970s and 1980s.

He died on the night of December 19, 2007 in a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania hospital after a long illness of prostate cancer .
