Tom Sawyer's Adventures (OT: Tom Sawyer ) is an American musical comedy from 1973 based on Mark Twain's novel The Adventures of Tom Sawyer . The television film was directed by Don Taylor .

action

Tom Sawyer and his aunt Polly live in a small town on the Mississippi . He plays with his friend, the homeless Huckleberry Finn, and often skips school or goes on adventure trips to the nearby forest. When Judge Thatcher comes to town one day, Tom falls in love with his daughter Becky. While on a treasure hunt with Huckleberry one night, he observes a murder committed by Indian Joe. A court hearing ensues and Muff Potter is falsely accused. Tom testifies as a witness and Joe escapes the courtroom. During a school trip to a nearby cave, Tom and Becky get lost and meet Indian Joe in the cave. The two manage to escape from the cave and Judge Thatcher locks the exit. When they reopen the cave after a few days, they find Indian Joe dead - he died of thirst. Huck and Tom also find the criminal's treasure, which they then share in order to be able to lead a life in freedom.
