Western Colorado University
The Western Colorado University is a state university in Gunnison in the US state of Colorado . Around 2400 students are enrolled at the university. It is a so-called Liberal Arts College .
history
The origins of the college go back to the Colorado State Normal School for Children , founded in 1901 . In 1923 it was renamed Western State College of Colorado and in 2012 Western State Colorado University. In 2018 it got its current name. The university's own radio station 91.1 KWSB has been broadcasting since 1968 .
Sports
The sports teams at Western Colorado University are the Mountaineers . The college is a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
