history

Westgrund AG was founded on May 15, 1990 by Joachim Goldmund, Hans Rudi Küfner, Hans-Ulrich Rücker, Klaus Rurack and Rüdiger Weiß in Remscheid . In 1998 the company was first introduced on the regulated market on the Düsseldorf Stock Exchange . Admission to the Frankfurt Stock Exchange followed two years later . From 2000 the main shareholder with a 75% stake was Bankhaus Lampe . In 2006 this stake went to the Swiss asset manager Marivag AG. Marivag lost the majority of the shares through the repositioning of the shares and later through several capital increases. In 2012 the company's headquarters were relocated to Berlin. On April 1, 2015, the company was included in the SDAX . In June 2015 Adler Real Estate took over 94.9% of Westgrund shares. Due to the now low free float, the share was removed from the SDAX on June 23, 2015. At the end of 2016, Adler announced the exclusion of minority shareholders . In March, the Luxembourg-based residential real estate group ADO Properties announced that it would take over both Westgrund and its parent company Adler.

In 2016, the company owned 18,778 residential and commercial units, all of which are located in Germany. At the end of 2018 there were still 18,331 units.
