The Westland Walrus (English Walrus ) was a three - seat carrier-based reconnaissance aircraft of the British Royal Air Force .
History and construction
The double-decker in composite construction had a tail-tail landing gear. Both wings, each with ailerons, were not swept and had the same span . They come from the de Havilland DH9 . The tail unit was constructed conventionally. The first flight took place in February 1921. A total of 36 machines were built and used in three flights (421, 422, 423), but were decommissioned in 1924.
