Who Threw the Whiskey in the Well? is a rhythm and blues song released in 1945 by Lucky Millinder and His Orchestra with Wynonie Harris as vocalist on Decca.

The song was released in April 1945 and peaked at number 1 on the rhythm and blues charts. He stayed in this place from July 14th to September 1st, 1945 and remained on the hit list for a total of five months. The song was also popular with white audiences and reached number 7 in the pop charts, an unusual success for a black at the time. In 1946, Bullmoose Jackson published an answer to Millinder's hit song ("I Know Who Threw the Whiskey in the Well"), which became his first hit.
