The contradiction (in its own spelling WIDERSPRUCH ) is a semi-annual Swiss magazine .

program

In each issue over 25 authors from Switzerland, Germany and Austria discuss a single topic in a controversial manner, mostly topics from the socialist politics of Switzerland. The magazine sees itself as independent of parties and other political organizations. It first appeared in an edition of 600 copies in 1981 - the editorial responsibility of an editorial collective with ten members. The magazine is available in paperback by subscription or as a single issue in bookstores or through self-distribution. Each issue has around 240 pages, a first edition of 2500 copies is printed and has met with a wide response. Some Swiss libraries have the contradiction in their holdings. The magazine has around 1,400 subscribers. The authors of the objection do not receive a fee for their contributions.

Over three decades, the contradiction was produced by co-founder Pierre Franzen together with the two long-time editors Urs Sekinger and Walter Schöni. The magazine has been published by Rotpunktverlag in Zurich since number 62 in spring 2013 . A six-person editorial team is supported by an advisory board.

Press reviews

“The Zurich half-yearly magazine caters to an intellectually discerning audience that doesn't come to terms with the latest slogans à la mode. But it is precisely the persistent drilling of thick boards that is the magazine's strength. "

- Tages-Anzeiger from January 12, 2001

"In an analytical and combative manner, the magazine contradiction makes social inequality its topic in issue 52."

- Neue Zürcher Zeitung, December 7, 2007

"Under the title" Security, Freedom, Global Justice ", the Zurich magazine "Widers respect" has now brought together a number of articles worth considering about what really happened after 1989. "

- Frankfurter Rundschau, on September 24, 2002
