How wonderful that you were born

How nice that you were born is a birthday song, written in 1981 by the German songwriter Rolf Zuckowski . It appeared as How nice that you were born on the album Radio Lollipop that same year . The song is one of the few German-language birthday songs and is also one of the best-known children's songs in German-speaking countries.

The second line of the chorus: "Otherwise we would have missed you very much" is philosophically interesting because of the question of whether you can miss someone who never was.
