Vienna Monday (1947–1969)
The Vienna Monday was one of 10 March 1947 to 30 April 1969 for appearing Vienna Monday newspaper.
The right-wing bourgeois newspaper took over the title of a Monday newspaper published by the French occupation forces in 1945-46. It was characterized by relatively extensive cultural reporting with a conservative tendency. The paper dedicated an outraged gloss to Thomas Bernhard's state award speech of March 4, 1968, which led to the scandal with Minister Theodor Piffl-Percevic , which ultimately led to a broader discussion of the subject. Vienna Monday is also mentioned critically in studies that concern anti-Semitism after 1945.
