Wildemannstaler

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Wildemannstaler is a taler coin with a picture of a wild man . The wild man appears for the first time as a coat of arms holder on coins of Erich II , Duke of the Duchy of Braunschweig-Lüneburg and Prince of Calenberg-Göttingen (1540–1584). A special form of the Wildemannstaler is the Hausknechtstaler, minted in 1643 .
