Willi Rösel
Willi Rösel (born August 22, 1954 in Gießen ) is a former German autocross pilot.
To date, he is the most successful driver in this motorsport discipline, having won seven European championship titles between 1979 and 1985 and a total of 42 individual victories. After 20 years of uninterrupted participation in the European Championship and the German Championship, he ended his career in 1992.
Rösel also played a few seasons with an Austrian license.
In 1982 he was awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf by the German President for his sporting successes .
The successful driver Bernd Stubbe has replaced Willi Rösel in this motorsport discipline.
Bernd Stubbe has broken the record of Willi Rösel with currently 8 European Championship titles (as of 2017).
