Williams Loop
Williams Loop is a roundabout on the standard-gauge Sacramento – Salt Lake City railway line , which is now part of the Union Pacific Railroad network. It was built between 1906 and 1909 by the Western Pacific Railroad . It leads in northeastern California through the Sierra Nevada , where the roundabout is also about 10 km east of Quincy. It gives the route on the west ramp to Beckwourth Pass additional altitude gain. The roundabout loop is 1.4 kilometers long and overcomes a height of eleven meters. With the length of the freight trains running , it can happen that a train crosses itself.
