Welcome to Reality (WIR) is a German electoral association that aligns its policies with social principles, sustainability and citizen participation. The electoral association was founded on January 10, 2019 in Bremerhaven and only competed in the elective area of Bremerhaven in the 2019 general election in the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen .
election program
The electoral association wants to carry out referendums on "politically important issues such as the introduction of public transport without a ticket". In addition, the party calls for "a fair social burden compensation between the municipalities to be financed by the state of Bremen in order to overcome the financial disadvantage of the city of Bremerhaven, especially vis-à-vis the city of Bremen". Further demands: free daycare from the start, the realization of the legal entitlement to a daycare place for every child, the reorganization of the financial relations between the federal government, the federal states and the municipalities with the applicable principle: if a service is ordered by the legislature at the municipality, this must be paid in full from there, a quota of at least 50 percent social housing with a long period of occupancy for new buildings and the comprehensive application of a rent brake when concluding all rental agreements.
