Wilmer Velásquez
Wilmer Raynel Neal Velásquez (born April 28, 1972 in San Pedro Sula ) is a Honduran football player .
Velásquez played with interruptions since 1991 for the Honduran record champions Club Deportivo Olimpia . With 149 goals he is the second most successful shooter in the Honduran league behind Brazilian Denilson Costa.
He also played for the Mexican first division club CF Atlas , but where he could not prevail and returned to Olimpia.
Velásquez is a pillar of the Honduran national football team because of his scoring threat . He scored six goals in the 2005 UNCAF Nations Cup , making him the most successful shooter in the tournament in which Honduras took second place. At the following CONCACAF Gold Cup 2005 , Velásquez scored three times and was, together with four other players, top scorer in this tournament too. He was also appointed to the All-Star Team.
