Vielau wind farm

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The  Vielau wind farm  is currently (as of 2017) being built near Vielau , which belongs to the municipality of Reinsdorf (Saxony) , in the "GI Lohe" wind priority area. The wind turbines will be built in the immediate vicinity of the federal highway 72 . The plant is operated by Sabowind GmbH.

Investments

There are already three wind turbines at the site. These three existing systems have total heights of 111 m and 135 m.

The wind farm is currently being expanded by three turbines. A Vestas V126 with an output of 3.3 megawatts with a hub height of 137 meters and two Vestas V117 wind farms with 3.45 megawatts and a hub height of 141.5 meters are planned. According to the operator, around 6,000 households can be supplied with electricity.

resistance

A citizens' initiative tries to prevent the construction of the wind turbines. Members and residents fear above all the noise to be expected, the risk of ice throwing on the nearby road from Friedrichsgrün to Silberstraße and the endangerment of bats.

The municipality of Reinsdorf also rejected the facilities in the Reinsdorf district by a large majority. The reasons for this were cast shadows, which in this case sometimes extend into the settlement area, noise parameters, but also the visually obtrusive components as well as nature and species protection. The district of Zwickau nevertheless issued the building permit, as the district office was obliged to do so because the formal and material requirements for the construction were met.
