Wind sensor with sun sensor

A wind monitor is an instrument for controlling based on the current wind speed . As a rule, a wind monitor is used to automatically retract external venetian blinds or awnings from a certain wind speed so that they are not damaged or caused by e.g. B. be torn from their anchoring. In modern systems, a wind monitor is connected to a building management system such as a KNX bus, an EnOcean system or a comparable system,

Wind monitors are designed in such a way that they trigger an impulse to raise or retract the awning depending on a defined threshold value . If there is a light sensor, the awning can be automatically extended in strong sunlight and retracted again when the radiation drops. As a safety device, however, the extended state is only allowed regardless of the solar radiation if the wind is not too strong. The wind sensor therefore has absolute priority. Wind monitors that are set too sensitive are a widespread nuisance, especially in modern office complexes.

Wind monitors are offered by a large number of well-known manufacturers for external blinds and awnings.
