Winfried Hofmann (* 1931 in Essen ) is a German media educator and former rector of the Catholic University of Applied Sciences in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Life

Hofmann studied German, English, folklore, history, philosophy and pedagogy and completed his studies in 1958 with a doctorate. He then worked for ten years at the University of Bonn before becoming professor for media education in the field of verbal communication at the Catholic University of Applied Sciences in North Rhine-Westphalia, Paderborn department . Between 1991 and 1995 he was rector of the Catholic University of Applied Sciences in North Rhine-Westphalia.
