Corner reflector

The designation corner reflector has the meanings:

  • a design of retroreflectors :
    • In radar technology, a type of radar reflector that increases the effective reflecting surface for electromagnetic waves for radar targets.
    • In optics, the corner reflector is a back reflector or triple mirror , which reflects light or laser beams back in exactly the direction of the light or laser source (see retroreflection ).
    • Corner reflectors can also be used as retroreflectors for sound waves , or act unintentionally as such (e.g. balconies on buildings)
  • In antenna technology , the corner reflector is an antenna reflector with two angled surfaces made of a grid or rods; see corner reflector antenna.
