The Winter Garden is a small botanical garden on the grounds of the Auckland Domain in Auckland, New Zealand . It consists of two greenhouses flanking an inner courtyard and a fern garden.

The Auckland Industrial, Agricultural and Mining Exhibition took place on the Auckland Domain from December 1, 1913 to April 18, 1914 . From the profit from this exhibition, the temperature-controlled house was built in 1921 with cold house plants and changing exhibitions of annual plants. The tropical house with palm trees, orchids and a collection by Hoya followed in 1929. Both houses are connected by an elongated inner courtyard in Victorian style with a centrally located water basin. In the inner courtyard there are several statues (four seasons, four elements, cat on a column), the long sides are formed by pergolas . From here you can also access the fern garden.

The fern garden was laid out in a former quarry that had supplied the volcanic slag to create the paths for the Auckland Exhibition. The garden opened in 1931 with over 100 species of native ferns but fell into disrepair and had to be closed in the 1940s. It was only reopened in 1994 after extensive renovation.
