Detlev Kümmel

Detlev "Dete" Kümmel (born March 19, 1968 in Lüdenscheid ) is a German gallery owner for art and antiques . He is also known for his appearances as an expert on various television programs on the subject of junk and antiques.

Life

Detlev Kümmel, the son of a metalworker, is a trained tool mechanic . Since 1978 he has been teaching various martial arts in which he competed internationally. In 1992 he opened a first and in 1996 a second fighting and fitness studio; in Lüdenscheid and Hemer . Kümmel has been running a gallery for modern art and antiques in Bruges , a district of Lüdenscheid, since 1997, and he also exhibits at trade fairs. Caraway's partner is the Thai Nang Nöbeling.

Detlev Kümmel achieved fame with his appearances as an art and antiques expert in various television series. In 2005, the Discovery Channel showed a series of reports entitled Finding the Fallen , which showed excavations of objects by fallen soldiers from the First World War . Kümmel checked exhibits such as lighters, tools and talismans found here for their origin and assessed their value. In 2009, Kümmel was in the docu-soap Der Trödeltrupp - Das Geld ist im Keller (Money is in the Basement) on RTL II . In 2010 he appeared in several episodes of the documentary soap Neu für Null - Schöner Wohnen ohne Geld on Kabel eins . On the TV show Who is showing whom? In 2012, Kümmel acted partly as a moderator, partly as an expert on SWR television , and coached a team made up of celebrities and randomly selected candidates. Since February 2016 he has appeared regularly as a reviewer in the Bares for Rares series . In this capacity, he was a guest on the talk show Markus Lanz in February 2019 .
