Economy in community

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Community Economy is an initiative of the Focolare Movement that was launched in Brazil in 1991. As part of this project, more than 840 companies around the world are now committed to supporting disadvantaged people. The companies involved make part of their profits available to alleviate hardship and to create structures that promote a "culture of giving". Some of these businesses have formed small business parks near Focolare settlements. This shows how the Christian lifestyle also affects everyday business life. There are such industrial parks in Incisa / Loppiano (near Florence / Italy), in São Paulo (Brazil) and near Buenos Aires (Argentina).
