The trade association for non-alcoholic beverages e. V. ( wafg ) is the economic and political interest group for the soft drinks industry in Germany . In addition to the (brand) manufacturers of soft drinks , members are mainly medium-sized and regionally set up mineral water fountains, as well as supporting members from the area of ​​the upstream production stages. The association has its office in Berlin and is listed in the association register of the German Bundestag.

The association was founded on September 5, 1882 in Berlin under the name “Verein deutscher Mineralwasser-Fabrikanten e. V. “founded. The move to Bonn in 1949 was followed by a change of name to “Association of German Mineral Water and Lemonade Manufacturers eV” in 1952, and from 1962 to 2000 the association was called “Federal Association of German Refreshment Drinks Industry e. V. ". Associated with the return to Berlin to the place of its historical foundation is the reorientation of the association under the name “Wirtschaftsvereinigungoholfrei Getränke e. V. (wafg) ".

The wafg represents the interests of a broad membership in politics, administration and the media as well as other economic sectors and the public. The main focus is on the subjects of food law, nutrition and consumer policy as well as packaging and the environment - opinions are formed by the steering bodies and the two specialist committees “Committee on Food Law and Food Science (ALL)” and “Committee on Technology and Environment (ATU)”.
