Wolfgang Cezanne

Wolfgang Cezanne (born September 22, 1943 in Erbach (Odenwald) ) is a German economist .

Life

Wolfgang Cezanne studied economics at the universities of Frankfurt and Saarbrücken from 1963 to 1969 . He completed his studies with a degree in economics with the topic The meaning of the third reason in Böhm-Bawerk's interest theory - analysis of a controversy between I. Fischer and Böhm-Bawerk and worked until 1973 as a research assistant at the University of Saarbrücken. During this time he did his doctorate on the subject of equilibrium theories and exchange rates for Dr. rer. pole. and received the faculty award for his dissertation. From 1973 to 1975 he was a member of the management committee of the EC group of experts on European Monetary Union at the center for interdisciplinary research at Bielefeld University . In 1976/77 he switched to the private sector and was employed by WestLB Research Money and Credit (Westdeutsche Landesbank Düsseldorf / Münster). Already in 1978 he left this post because he was appointed professor of economics at the TU Berlin and stayed there until 1994. In 1995 he was finally appointed to the Brandenburg Technical University of Cottbus , also as professor of economics, and remained there until his retirement 2008. From 1996 to 2001 he was Vice President and Vice Rector for Teaching, Studies and Study Reform.

He is currently a board member of the Federal Association of German Administrative and Business Academies and a board member of the LIST Society .

Cezanne was a co-signer of the Euro-critical manifesto The Monetary Policy Decisions of Maastricht: A Threat to Europe (1992).

Cezanne is married and has two children.
